Fire Alarm Flashing Red Light

Press the test silence or hush button to reset the smoke detector if it has a blinking red light. This indicates that the battery power supply is working properly. This is not a cause for concern. If there are interconnected smoke alarms the fast flashing red light will indicate which smoke alarm initiated the alarm.
When the alarm senses products of combustion and goes into alarm the red led will flash one flash per second. The light on a firex smoke detector unit intermittently flashes during regular operation.
